Scones are really fast to make, as they don’t have to raise before baking ad also …. They tastes great! 😉
At our house, scones are perfect when I want to spoil my family for breakfast and serve something other than the usual weekend buns
Alexander just love my scones – together with a delicious & sour lemon curd.
Recipe
Yield: 12 scones
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 120 ml buttermilk
- 120 ml milk
- 435 grams of flour
- 65 grams of sugar
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 100 grams of soft butter (cut into small pieces)
How to make it:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, hot air
- Add eggs, milk & buttermilk to a bowl
- whip it well together
- Reserve 2 tablespoon of the egg/milk mixture, for later use
- Add flour, sugar, bakingpowder & salt to another bowl & stir with a spoon
- Add in the soft butter & mix it well with your hands
- When the butter is mixed well with the flour-mixture, then add the egg/milk mixture
- Stir it all well together with a spoon
- Transfer the dough onto a well floured surface & fold the dough onto itself a couple of times, so that the surface is nice & smooth. Add some flour on top
- Roll out the doug whith a rolling pin, until it is 2,5 cm thick (aprox. 1 inch) & cut out cirkles with a cookie cutter that are 5 cm in diameter (aprox. 2 inches)
- Cut out as many scones as you can. Gather the remaining dough & do the sam ething again
(Until there are no more dough left) - Put your scones on a baking sheet with baking paper on, brush with the egg/milk mixture you have set aside & bake in the oven for aprox. 10 – 12 minutes
- Cool the scones on a wire rack & serve right away, with delicious lemon curd
